David Dowhan

Chief Executive Officer and Founder

David brings a successful track record of executive leadership at growing both private and public venture-backed companies and has been a pioneer in online marketing since 1997.

Before TruSignal, David joined eBureau in December 2007, spearheading strategic business and product development efforts. In his previous role as general manager and SVP, marketing analytics at Adteractive, David managed a team of 45 people, spanning all of Adteractive’s business units. Under his leadership, Adteractive became one of the fastest growing private companies in America and a leader in online lead generation. Prior to Adteractive, David held executive roles at Drugstore.com and NextCard, Inc, where he was responsible for product management and customer acquisition. David began his career as a software engineer at Decision Systems, a research and development firm focused on voice telephony solutions for the health care industry.

David earned a Bachelor of Science in symbolic systems from Stanford University in 1990 and a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

As chief operating officer, Dave leads TruSignal’s sales, client development and operations teams, and implements TruSignal’s strategic direction. Dave brings over 20 years of experience leading revenue and operational teams across media, digital and SaaS organizations.

Prior to TruSignal Dave served as CEO of Balihoo, an enterprise focused SaaS local marketing platform. Dave has also held executive sales and leadership roles at companies leveraging the latest technology and innovative business models including Yahoo, Demand Media and Mediaocean’s Mbuy division.

Dave earned a Master of Business Administration from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at Depaul University and received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University.

As chief marketing officer, Pete leads TruSignal’s marketing group, including marketing strategy, brand and acquisition advertising, product and vertical marketing, events and conferences, social media and public relations. As an accomplished senior executive, Pete has more than 20 years of experience with a strong background in digital media, ad technology, Big Data and retail.

Prior to joining TruSignal, Pete was the vice president of new channel development for ValueClick where he developed and launched new business verticals leveraging the Dotomi big data and personalization platform. Pete joined ValueClick from Walmart where he was a marketing director and led the Online Media Program and Smart Network. Before Walmart, Pete was the director of sales strategy and programs at Yahoo! where he worked with the sales leadership on strategic programs.

Pete earned a Master of Business Administration from the F.W. Olin Business School at Babson University and received a bachelor’s degree in government and economics from St. Lawrence University.

Matthew Quiel

Matthew is the chief product officer at TruSignal where he leads the development of internal database products, overseeing critical integration with key technology and media partners. Matthew’s professional experience in data-driven strategies extends through advertising and marketing industries.

Prior to TruSignal Matthew worked with Acxiom. In his most recent position, Matthew served as expert product director where he was responsible for data packaging, distribution and monetization across all digital channels. Matthew has worked in other leadership roles at Acxiom across product management, sales and marketing functions. Matthew also brings experience from tech giant Yahoo!, where he was most recently responsible for overseeing the development of campaign targeting and implementation strategy for key prospects and major Yahoo! accounts.

Matthew is a graduate of University of San Diego where he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and architecture.

Brian Adamczak

As chief technology officer at TruSignal, Brian is responsible for overseeing the setup, configuration and management of critical technology assets. Since joining TruSignal in 2014, Brian has managed and evolved TruSignal’s technology and data stack and is the principal architect of TruSignal’s self-serve TruAudience® Platform. Brian has a broad engineering background that spans more than 15 years and includes the development and management of critical web management systems, web architecture and other back-end network systems.

As chief financial officer, Julie is responsible for all of TruSignal’s financial and reporting activities, including accounting, budgeting and compliance. In her role as vice president of human resources, Julie oversees all human resource functions, including organizational development, recruitment, staffing, compensation and benefits. 

Previously, Julie served as director of compliance at eBureau where she was responsible for security and compliance functions, including the creation and maintenance of corporate policies and internal audit engagements. Prior to joining eBureau, Julie was chief financial officer and vice president of operations at Maple Bank where she maintained accounting and financial reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, cash management and board reporting. She also served as the human resource director and oversaw operations, regulatory compliance, and IT security. Julie also spent five years at LarsonAllen (currently CliftonLarsonAllen), as senior accountant where was responsible for planning, managing and conducting certified financial audits, directors exams, information security audits, risk assessments and SOC engagements.

Julie holds both CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor) and CPA (Certified Public Accountant) licenses, in non-practicing  and inactive status respectively, and earned her bachelor of science degree in accounting from St. Cloud State University.

Joe Bockelman

Joe serves as TruSignal’s executive vice president of business development, managing strategic partnerships related to TruSignal’s data licensing and industry partners. His work to secure key matching, onboarding and distribution partners throughout the adtech ecosystem have been crucial to TruSignal’s success. 

Prior to TruSignal’s spinout from eBureau, Joe also served as eBureau’s executive vice president of business development after joining the company in 2007. Joe has more than 30 years of management experience with an expertise in risk management, marketing and fraud prevention-related information solutions. Previously, Joe was the chief product marketing officer of Qsent, Inc. from 2005 until its successful sale to TransUnion in late 2006. Prior to joining Qsent, Joe was vice president of LexisNexis Risk Management, where he was instrumental in the transformation and development of LexisNexis’ market leadership in identity and risk management solutions.

Joe holds a master’s degree from Miami University, a bachelor’s degree from Denison University and completed the Kellogg School of Management’s Advanced Executive Program, Northwestern University.

As senior vice president of sales, Pete is responsible for the growth of TruSignal’s direct client, platform and agency business. He leads a team that works with the largest global brands to support data-centric buying strategies for advanced people-based targeting and bid price optimization.

Pete is a passionate, results-driven leader with extensive experience in digital media and enterprise sales. Pete has proven success in driving results and has led some of the most successful marketing technology and digital media teams in the industry at Videology, Yahoo!, Disney, ESPN, Condé Nast and Demand Media.

Prior to TruSignal, Pete was the head of Videology enterprise sales. Pete started his career at Saatchi & Saatchi and EURO/RSCG in New York as a digital media planner and buyer.

Pete lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two kids and enjoys coaching lacrosse and attending live music events.

As senior director of customer success, Diana works with TruSignal’s customers to drive adoption and usage of our targeting and optimization solutions and ensures TruSignal continues to deliver business value and fulfill customer needs. She leads a team that focuses on building strong, lasting relationships that drive success for our customers.   

Diana has over 11 years of advertising technology and client services experience. Prior to TruSignal, Diana was the director of global account management at Turn, which was acquired by Amobee in February 2017. She was responsible for client renewals and growth during her eight-year tenure with Turn. Diana joined Turn from Linkshare Corporation where she spent three years as an account coordinator.

Diana earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and international marketing from Baruch College in New York.

Pat Thompson

As general counsel and vice president of legal at TruSignal, Pat is responsible for all legal functions and provides expert and strategic legal advice to the executive team. She also provides guidance on compliance matters, effectively negotiates critical contracts and provides ongoing support across all TruSignal business units.

Previously, Pat was general counsel at xTech Holdings, Inc., the parent to TruSignal and eBureau, LLC where she managed all legal functions and also provided guidance on compliance matters. Prior to joining eBureau, Pat spent nearly 15 years as a director and senior counsel with Wolters Kluwer, where she managed a large team of attorneys and paralegals that handled legal matters concerning the sale and delivery of compliance software and document solutions and professional services to financial organizations and their service providers.  

Pat earned her law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Finance from Minnesota State University, Moorhead.

Gordon (Gordy) has held several senior executive positions in his career, leading the start up and development of many successful companies. Gordy brings significant experience and thought leadership in the application of analytics and decision sciences within marketing, credit and collections operations. For ten years, he held management and policy development responsibilities in managing Fingerhut’s $2 billion direct mail catalog sales.

In 1994 Gordy founded RiskWise and led the development of a highly regarded risk management company focused on the development and distribution of a series of sophisticated decision products for credit, fraud prevention, collections, security and payment risk. These solutions were adopted widely by the nation’s top financial, telecommunications and receivable management companies.

LexisNexis acquired RiskWise in June 2000. Gordy continued to lead the RiskWise business and held senior roles in the LexisNexis technology organization until June of 2003. In the fall of 2003, Gordy founded, eBureau, a successful real-time information services and consumer scoring company. At eBureau, Gordy served as CEO until its acquisition by TransUnion in 2017 where he now serves as senior vice president. In 2012, eBureau announced the spinoff of its online advertising targeting business into a new company called TruSignal, where Gordy served as CEO until it was spun out completely from eBureau in 2017.

Gordy graduated from the University of Minnesota Morris in 1983 and earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Cloud State University in 1989.

Chris invests in entrepreneurs building mobile-first companies, monetization platforms and marketplaces. His active investments include Tenor and he serves on the boards of Button, Clara, Intent Media, Raise.me, Scripted and TruSignal.

He has served on the board for several successful Redpoint companies including BlueKai (acquired by Oracle), Efficient Frontier (acquired by Adobe), Right Media (acquired by Yahoo!), Refresh (acquired by LinkedIn) and Auditude (acquired by Adobe).

Previously Chris held product and business development roles with early e-commerce pioneers wine.com and Peapod.

Chris has been with Redpoint since its founding in 1999. He holds a BA in mathematics and economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jim Simons is a founding Managing Director of Split Rock Partners. Jim focuses on software and Internet services companies.

Prior to founding Split Rock Partners, Jim served as General Partner of St. Paul Venture Capital, which he joined in 1996 and focused on early-stage investing in software and services opportunities. Before joining St. Paul Venture Capital, Jim was a partner at Marquette Venture Partners, where he was responsible for investments in a variety of industries. Jim began his career in the investment banking group at Trammell Crow Company and in the corporate finance department at First Boston Corporation.

Jim received a bachelor’s in economics and history from Stanford University and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ben Boyer is a Managing Director of Tenaya Capital, and he has been a member of the Tenaya investment team since 2000.

Previously, Ben was a member of Lehman Brothers’ Technology Investment Banking group, where he was responsible for corporate finance and strategic advisory assignments.

Ben holds an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University.
