TruSignal is a predictive analytics company that aggregates consumer information to enable our customers to show you advertising that is likely to be of interest to you. We understand that many consumers are concerned about their privacy, and we believe that consumers should be informed, and have a choice. This policy thus, describes the collection and use of data by TruSignal.
TruSignal licenses consumer information that is widely used for direct marketing purposes, from several reputable data providers. We do not collect, track or monitor any behavioral data (e.g. web sites consumers visit). We use the consumer information to predict which products and services may be of interest to you. We share these predictions, anonymously, as a consumer propensity Score (a number from 0-9), along with non-personally identifiable information, with our customers. We do not sell or share any personally identifiable information (“PII”).
We follow the ISO 27002:2005 best-in-class security standards. We employ strict data access and data security standards when storing consumer information. We also, require our data providers to follow all legal requisites, and industry best practices for data collection.
TruSignal has no consumer websites. Regardless, we adhere to the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising and the Network Advertising Initiative’s Code of Conduct.
You should also visit the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s website for an independent overview of online advertising and targeting. Note too the consumer privacy matters materials there.
How It Works
TruSignal licenses consumer profile information from several reputable data providers and receives profile information from our customers and potential customers. We look for patterns and commonality in this data to help us predict which consumers are good prospects for our customers. The output of our analysis is a number from 0 to 9 (a “Score”). The Score allows our customers to target advertisements without knowing or using personal information.
TruSignal provides Scores to a network of interactive partners (“Match Partners”). Match Partners place cookies that include the Scores on consumers’ computers when they visit a website. TruSignal’s Match Partners enable our customers to target advertisements to consumers.
Consumers who visit websites that support TruSignal’s solution, see our customers’ advertisements if their Score predicts that they may have a high propensity for the customers’ services or products.
Consumers can opt-out from having their propensity Scores shared with advertisers or used for targeting advertisements by visiting theNetwork Advertising Initiative (NAI) website and the Consumer Choice Page at Aboutads.info. Note that if a consumer had previously opted out at these sites, then TruSignal would not be able to provide a Score for the consumer.
TruSignal is dedicated to ensuring consumers understand of how we interact with them. To that end, we adhere to these guidelines:
TruSignal only shares select information regarding your predicted propensity or interest in a product or service; a numeric score between 0-9 along with non-personal identifying demographic information. If your propensity score is high then you are more likely to receive targeted advertisements on our customers, and their partner sites.
TruSignal does not share personally identifiable information provided to us by our offline data providers or customers such as your name, address, email address or phone number.
TruSignal does not knowingly collect or share personal information on anyone under the age of 13.
TruSignal does not track the sites you visit, and does not know the sites you have accessed.
TruSignal does not collect information that you may consider sensitive, including health and adult behavior (i.e. drinking, gambling, or pornographic content).
TruSignal does not collect more information than is necessary to provide its services.
If your privacy choices indicate that you don’t want to share your interests, then TruSignal will not allow any marketer to access that information. This does not mean you will stop getting advertising on the sites you visit, but the relevance of the ads you see will not be derived from an interaction with TruSignal.
TruSignal contractually requires all of its data providers and Match Partners to comply with the legal requisites, and industry best practices for data collection.
TruSignal contractually requires our customers to provide a Notice to Consumers regarding data collection activities and a clear and easy way to opt-out.
TruSignal retains Client provided consumer information only for so long as is necessary to create the customer requested predictive model. Data TruSignal licenses from offline data providers including consumer profile information collected for the purposes of providing Match Partners with Scores is refreshed periodically and retained in accordance with the terms of the data provider’s license.
We may update this privacy statement to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes we will notify you by providing notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective.
